Founders of Apex Spine, Gareth Gibbes and Gavin de Wit, have over 24 years’ combined experience in the medical industry. They consider their role in working with surgical teams and influencing patient outcomes a privilege.
Gareth and Gavin have built strong relationships with New Zealand surgeons, medical teams and medical device suppliers. They have a proven track record in growing the spine market. Their success has been built on outstanding service, communication, integrity and initiative.

Gareth Gibbes
Gareth is a Co-Founder of Apex Spine. He believes a customer-focused approach is at the heart of delivering excellent service. Gareth enjoys helping people achieve their goals and in business this means understanding his customers’ needs and delivering solutions.
His professional path began as a musculoskeletal physiotherapist. Gareth holds a Physiotherapy degree from Auckland University of Technology and a Sports Science degree from Auckland University.

Gavin de Wit
Gavin de Wit is a co-Founder of Apex Spine. Gavin brings enthusiasm and a passion for helping people. With over a decade of experience in the medical industry, including arthroplasty, trauma and spine, Gavin offers technical expertise and indepth local knowledge of the spine industry. His journey started with a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Recreation from Auckland University of Technology. Today his mission is to deliver service that is built on Apex Spine values trust, integrity and excellence.
